General Wire 450EM3 Spin-Drive – Drain Cleaning Snake
The hand-operated General Wire 450EM3 Spin-Drive drain cleaning snake clears blockages in 2 to 4 inch lines. It carries a 50 ft × 1/2 inch Flexicore cable and the drum accepts up to 75 ft.

Before first use, read and follow the supplied operating instructions and the manufacturer’s safety instructions in full.
Wear personal protective equipment
As required for the task, wear eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves and safety footwear. Wear close-fitting clothing, tie back long hair and remove jewellery or anything else that could become caught in the machine.
Crushing and entanglement hazard
Keep body parts away from moving components. Never reach under or into the machine while it is running. Maintain a safe distance.
Trained operators only
The machine may be operated only by instructed persons who are physically and mentally fit. Do not work under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, or with any condition that impairs concentration.
Maintenance and repair
Perform maintenance, cleaning and repairs only when the machine is stationary and its drive is disconnected. Repairs must be carried out only by qualified personnel.
Intended use
Do not overload the machine. Use it only within the manufacturer’s specified operating range and for its intended purpose. Use original spare parts and accessories only.
Equipment-specific instructions
- The rotating cable can coil suddenly. Never wrap it around a hand and do not wear loose gloves, clothing or jewellery.
- Use only guide gloves designed for drain-cleaning machines.
- Turn the hand crank in a controlled manner. Stop immediately if the cable jams; do not force it because of kickback and breakage risk.
- Waste water is biologically contaminated. Wear eye protection and waterproof gloves, wash hands thoroughly afterwards and use splash protection.
- Do not combine the machine with chemical drain cleaners because corrosive liquid can splash.
