Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions
Before first use, read and follow the supplied operating instructions and the manufacturer’s safety instructions in full.
Wear personal protective equipment
As required for the task, wear eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves and safety footwear. Wear close-fitting clothing, tie back long hair and remove jewellery or anything else that could become caught in the machine.
Crushing and entanglement hazard
Keep body parts away from moving components. Never reach under or into the machine while it is running. Maintain a safe distance.
Trained operators only
The machine may be operated only by instructed persons who are physically and mentally fit. Do not work under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, or with any condition that impairs concentration.
Maintenance and repair
Perform maintenance, cleaning and repairs only when the machine is stationary and its drive is disconnected. Repairs must be carried out only by qualified personnel.
Intended use
Do not overload the machine. Use it only within the manufacturer’s specified operating range and for its intended purpose. Use original spare parts and accessories only.
Fuel and exhaust gases
Never run the engine in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces because of carbon-monoxide poisoning. Refuel only with the engine stopped and cool; do not smoke and keep open flames away. The exhaust and engine become hot and can cause burns.
Equipment-specific instructions
- Never drive over your own feet or anyone else’s. Safety footwear is mandatory.
- Maintain a safe distance; nobody may remain in the work area.
- Never reach beneath the plate during operation; there is a severe crushing hazard.
- When reversing, keep an escape route clear. Never reverse towards walls, trenches or obstacles because the operator can be crushed between machine and obstacle.
- Hearing protection is mandatory. Strong hand-arm vibration requires regular breaks.
- Do not use on slopes or unstable ground where the machine could tip or slide.
- Because of the high weight, use suitable loading aids and a second person when loading or unloading.
These notes summarise the most important hazards and are not exhaustive. The manufacturer’s operating instructions, supplied at handover, are binding.
