Rothenberger Rofrost Turbo R290
The Rothenberger ROFROST Turbo II R290 pipe freezer is designed to freeze copper, stainless-steel and steel water pipes. It is available in versions up to 1¼ inch or 2 inch; the exact FM RENT version must be confirmed before booking.

Read the operating instructions
Before first use, read and follow the supplied operating instructions and the manufacturer’s safety instructions in full.
Wear personal protective equipment
As required for the task, wear eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves and safety footwear. Wear close-fitting clothing, tie back long hair and remove jewellery or anything else that could become caught in the machine.
Crushing and entanglement hazard
Keep body parts away from moving components. Never reach under or into the machine while it is running. Maintain a safe distance.
Trained operators only
The machine may be operated only by instructed persons who are physically and mentally fit. Do not work under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, or with any condition that impairs concentration.
Maintenance and repair
Perform maintenance, cleaning and repairs only when the machine is stationary and its drive is disconnected. Repairs must be carried out only by qualified personnel.
Intended use
Do not overload the machine. Use it only within the manufacturer’s specified operating range and for its intended purpose. Use original spare parts and accessories only.
Electrical voltage warning
Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning, maintenance or repair. Inspect power cables for damage before every use. Electrical installation work may be carried out only by a qualified electrician.
Equipment-specific instructions
- The unit uses highly flammable R290 propane refrigerant. Keep away from ignition sources, open flames and soldering. Ventilate well and do not operate in pits or unventilated basements because propane is heavier than air.
- Freeze heads and hoses reach far below 0 °C. Handle only with cold-protection gloves and keep skin away from iced components.
- Do not kink, crush, drive over or tension refrigerant hoses because damaged hoses release refrigerant.
- Freeze only static, depressurised pipes. Before opening, verify the ice plug holds and depressurise the system beyond it.
- Do not use on plastic pipes or pipes with flowing media.
- Connect through an RCD, place the unit securely and keep ventilation openings clear.
